About the Workshop:
Songwriting is composed of lyrics and music. This workshop will focus on coming up with some ideas for song topics, choosing one and then loosely writing your own song. Huck Notari will provide a melody to put your own words to, which you are welcome to change after the class. This will give you a good idea of how to fit words with music. If time allows and you are willing, we can share our songs and give feedback.
Huck Notari grew up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, where his parents first introduced him to the piano and he taught himself to play the guitar at the age of 17. It was his grandfather, Glenn Burris, a Broadway singer who first sparked Huck’s curiosity of singing at a young age.
Huck later moved to Eugene, Oregon and toured the west coast with The Kitchen Syncopators (with Gill Landry of Old Crow Medicine Show, Woody Pines and Felix Hatfield).
In 2007, when he moved to Oregon City, Huck discovered his own voice and wrote his first album, “Highland”, followed by his second album,” Very Long Dream”, in 2009 and his third, “Huck Notari and the River” in 2013.
Huck currently calls Portland, Oregon his home. Huck performed at the second Hermit Music Festival.
